Hello Darlings! 🌈 The holidays are coming in hot, and NYC’s queer calendar is serving kinky theater, fabulous drag, and festive camp. But before we deck the halls, we’ve got a weekend packed with comedy, culture, and fun.
Calling all cool cats and festive felines! You can win a pair of tickets to Catbaret! NYC’s Cat-Themed Variety Show: Meowy X-Mas & Happy Hanukkats at Caveat on Saturday, 12/19, for a purr-fectly ridiculous night of comedy, music, burlesque, and holiday mischief.
JUST ANNOUNCED
Five kinky short plays explore everything from dungeon discoveries to unexpected tenderness in Bound to Desire at The Tank, opening Thursday, 12/10. With BDSM, fairy-tale fantasies, and power dynamics that refuse to behave, this adults-only theatrical adventure is definitely not your high school's drama club.
The GayLarious Holiday Laugh Festival brings a lineup of LGBTQ+ comedians to Broadway Comedy Club on Wednesday, 12/09, proving that holiday family dysfunction is even funnier with a microphone.
Your gingerbread house doesn't have to be straight, and neither does your holiday social calendar, thanks to the Gay Gingerbread House Class at Boxers HK on Sunday, 12/13.
Art gets political, personal, and proudly queer at the International Human Rights Art Festival's Celebration of LGBTQIA+ at The Tank on Thursday, 12/10 as part of a weeklong festival featuring more than 50 performances where creative expression and activism share the spotlight.
The New York City Gay Men's Chorus is making the holidays significantly gayer with Yuletide Gay(er) at NYU Skirball on Friday, 12/11. Expect spectacular vocals, festive camp, and a soundtrack featuring music made famous by divas who practically qualify as religious figures.
HAVE YOURSELF A VERY QUEER LITTLE CHRISTMAS
Mariah Carey has officially thawed from her block of ice, which means it’s time to get down to some serious holiday business! From campy Christmas cabarets to drag queens decking the halls, NYC is serving up enough queer holiday cheer to make even the Grinch a little fabulous.
