Hello Darlings! September has arrived, which means summer is technically over but New York is absolutely not acting like it. The city is still warm, the nights are still long enough to get into trouble, and we have a whole new season of reasons to leave the house.

The 24th Annual New York Burlesque Festival takes over NYC from Friday, 10/2 through Sunday, 10/4 with more than 50 performances across 3 Dollar Bill, Sony Hall and Le Poisson Rouge, spanning burlesque, drag, circus and plenty of glitter. And you can win a pair of 3-day passes.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Lesbian pop melodrama is coming to Chelsea when Zolita brings The Hell’s Belles Tour to Racket on Thursday, 9/24, and you can win a pair of tickets.

  • The New Yorker Festival is taking over the city starting Friday, 10/23 with a performance by King Princess.

  • Next April, Brooklyn is getting a dose of Belgian pop royalty when Angèle brings the Instinct Tour to Brooklyn Paramount. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.

  • Brooklyn punk gets a little gayer when THICK celebrate their new single at The Broadway on Saturday, 10/10, with Big Girl and Cotillion opening.

LOCALS ONLY

  • Did you know that NYC’s public hospital system has dedicated Pride Clinics offering LGBTQ+-affirming care? With locations at Woodhull, Jacobi and Lincoln, affordable queer-friendly healthcare has more options than you probably realized.

  • Know your neighborhood history: Christopher Street was a queer space long before Stonewall. Its piers, sailors, bars and waterfront made it a gathering place for gay men going back at least to World War I.

  • Looking for a cozy piano bar in the city? We’ve rounded up a list of our favorites in NYC.
