Hello, Darlings! Drag Race is racing, Pride is creeping up, and the city is starting to feel it. Consider this your weekly briefing. đŸȘ©

Free tickets? Gay art? Say less. Enter to win free tickets to see the work of Keith Haring at The Brant Foundation before it closes at the end of May. If you love New York, queer history, or just iconic visuals you’ve definitely seen on a tote bag, this is your moment. Haring made work that was joyful, political, and very unapologetically gay.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • The biggest Pride party of the season, Planet Pride, just opened presale registration. This massive 15+ artist, multi-stage, 12-hour celebration will happen on Saturday, 6/27 at Avant Gardner, with proceeds benefiting Femme House.

  • Tickets drop tomorrow for St. Vincent’s New York stop on her limited orchestral concert run. She’ll be performing alongside the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at Geffen Hall in July.

  • Australian cabaret star Kim David Smith, the “male Marlene Dietrich,” will return to NYC in May for a night of song at Joe's Pub with Comme Une Folle - torch songs for tough times because gay.

LOCALS ONLY

  • Not everything in the scene is loud. Brini Maxwell’s craft night, Make It With Brini, at Club Cumming has been a low-key staple for years. Welcoming to newcomers and regulars, this free event series is full of kitsch and charm. If you’re in the neighborhood, you should check it out!

  • Our queer spaces are closing at an alarming rate. Within a year, we’ve lost Bluestockings (open 25 years), Macri Park (10 years), Elmo (open 25 years), and Barracuda Lounge (open 30 years). This is a critical time to support our favorites.
