Hello Darlings! 🌈 Happy Pride! New York is currently operating at approximately 300% capacity, and frankly no one has time to sift through every fundraiser, rooftop, march, and dance party. We’ve rounded up the biggest free events of the weekend, a few newly announced reasons to plan ahead, and some Pride season chatter making waves around town.

Phoebe Bridgers and Alex G bring The Lost Tour to Barclays Center on Friday, 9/25. The bisexual patron saint of yearning, bangs, and kissing your friends headlines what is sure to be one of the gayest concerts of the fall, and you can even enter to win tickets.*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Flame Con returns to the Marriott Marquis in August. The world’s largest LGBTQ comics and pop culture convention will bring together artists, cosplay, gaming, panels, and thousands of queer fans for a weekend that feels like Comic Con’s gayer, friendlier cousin.

  • In late October, NewFest38 takes over venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn. New York’s premier LGBTQ film festival promises nearly two weeks of screenings, filmmaker Q&As, parties, and premieres celebrating queer storytelling from around the world.

  • "One of the coolest subscriptions" ever joined, "worth every penny," and "one of the best things to happen to the live music scene." DoNYC MORE members’ words, not ours. Enjoy 12 months for $50.*

THIS WEEKEND’S FREE FLAGSHIP EVENTS

Sure, there are approximately 4,000 things happening this weekend, but if you’re only doing Pride in small doses, make it these iconic, deeply New York celebrations.

THIS WEEKEND

FOR PRIDE:

LOCALS ONLY

  • More than 20 past and present NYC Pride grand marshals are urging Heritage of Pride to bar hospitals that halted gender-affirming care for transgender youth from marching this year. Activists argue that institutions that discontinued care under political pressure shouldn’t be able to celebrate Pride until they restore services.

  • For the first time ever, the City Council transformed City Hall into a ballroom runway for a Pride Ball featuring voguing, performances, and honors for local LGBTQ advocates. Apparently even municipal chambers can serve face.

  • Feel like a road trip? LGBTQ+ Pride Day returns to the Great New York State Fair in Syracuse on 8/28. Melissa Etheridge, Brandy Clark, DJ Pretty Mess, and Elton John tribute artist Kenny Metcalf will headline a day of music, community events, and enough fried food to fuel the trip back to the city.
