Hello, Darlings! It’s a big week for the chosen people, the risen people, and the drag people. Passover, Easter, and the final lap of Drag Race are all hitting at once, so whether you’re breaking bread, hunting eggs, or judging looks, there’s a lot to observe.

Just a reminder that Chelsea Handler is coming back to NYC and you can win free tickets! She’ll be performing at The Wellmont Theatre on Friday, August 7.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Lesbian Visibility Week is coming to NYC from Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 26. Help kick off the festivities with the Official Lesbian Visibility Week Flag Raising Ceremony at The LGBT Center and we’ll keep you posted on more events as they’re confirmed.

  • Before the Stonewall protest, there was the Sip-In at Julius’. On Tuesday April 21, a nationwide activation will recreate that protest across bars and via Zoom, anchored at Julius’ and featuring original participant Randy Wicker. It’s a rare chance to step directly into one of the first acts of modern gay rights resistance.

  • Passover/Easter week is a perfect time to spotlight The Stonewall Inn’s newest monthly party, Unholy Communion, which leans all the way into sacrilegious camp. Think house music, go-go energy, and just enough religious imagery to feel sinful in the best way.

TOMORROW - UNHOLY COMMUNION @ THE STONEWALL INN

SATURDAY - BROADWAY DRAG BRUNCH @ 54 BELOW

SATURDAY - TRANS VOICES CABARET @ CAVEAT

LOCALS ONLY

  • Tucked into the West Village, Julius’ is one of NYC’s oldest continuously operating gay bars and a quiet landmark of queer history. On April 26, 1966, activists staged the “Sip-In” here, challenging laws that made it illegal to serve gay people and helping open the door to legal gay nightlife. This year marks the 60th anniversary, a reminder that something as simple as ordering a drink was once an act of protest.

  • Have you been to The Leslie-Lohman Museum, NYC’s only museum dedicated entirely to queer art? Tucked in West Village, it’s always worth a stop. Expect rotating exhibitions that range from photography to more experimental work, all unapologetically LGBTQ-focused.
